Tonally, this is a pitch perfect recording, combining the best of the band’s instincts for both the gothic, the graceful, and the ethereal, with just enough muscularity of expression — particularly in the opener — to really transcend beyond the scope of their pop-goth/darkwave-gaze peers. An excellent recording that will fit in nearly any discerning post-punk playlist.
